@Robert - Thanks for posting this on your REW blog. (feel free to put a live link there to this site.

@Steve- I KNOW of the posts you write. My wife and I have 4 kids--two on the spectrum--one with Aspergers and one with classic Autism.

I am a technologist and webmaster with a large real estate brokerage in Louisville Kentucky --good to meet you!

Robert just pointed me to your posts-a truly enjoyable read. My wife and I started a blog / forum on Autism called AutismNotes.com.

If there is anything I can do to help you get your blog out to more folks, let me know. Our family will be speaking at several conferences, including ASA this year. Would love to meet you and chat some.

Best regards...

Steve, I find myself becoming very emotional when I read your blog posts. I cannot imagine what you and your wife go thru, but feel humbled by your heart and perseverance with dealing with this dissorder and your contributions with the center that is soon to open in Riverview. I wish more people would put their minor issues and problems aside to help the greater good and get involved in helping others in need!

Thanks for the positive feedback. This is my first foray into the world of blogging. I feel very strongly about educating myself and others about autism and how families cope with all of the challenges of raising an autistic child.

This article is really great! Thank you for sharing this with all of us. Parenting is a challenging and rewarding job and one rarely stops to think of another parents' challenges when they are frustrated with a child not behaving the way we need at that very moment. It has heightened my awareness and I am glad I will have the opportunity to contribute and hopefully make a difference to the families that will use this facility.
